Karli IngersollThe Bartlett presented a concert at the Bing Crosby Theater not too long ago and we were approached by Spark Spokane Media about having some live footage taken at the concert. This was really perfect because I’ve been working to try to connect music in Spokane with talented and passionate videographers. One of the biggest separations (of many) I’ve seen lately between the music scene in Seattle and Spokane is the lack of video presence. There’s no lack of talented bands or video people in Spokane but you are hard pressed to find well done videos of bands from Spokane.
Hopefully Spark Spokane Media can be the beginning of the end of that online drought. They are so enthusiastic and did an incredible job with our videos and they intend to continue working hard to get cool Spokane artists online. Pickwick isn’t a Spokane band but a lot of their success and following has come from their live videos. They are a great example of one of the ways bands in this difficult time in the music industry can still pave their way towards a large fan base without a big budget or record deal. They also just came out with a new record which you can buy pretty much anywhere and are on their first national tour. Check out their website.
