Spokane may be a little behind the times in certain areas, but local bands are finally coming around to getting more of their music accessible in video formats. Obviously, music videos aren’t anything new, but for some reason the local scene has been slow to realize how much good a few well done videos on youtube (live or choreographed) can do for gaining a following. A lot of people these days (Pickwick, Allen Stone, etc) are growing rapidly based off one or two videos rather than a full length album or consistent touring. So, let’s help these guys out who are putting in some time, money and effort into growing Spokane’s online presence of original music. Check out a few of these new videos and share them on facebook/twitter/whatever. (If there’s other videos you think we should list next time, please share in the comment section)

In other local video related news, the folks who put on the 50 Hour Slam are kicking off a brand new additional film competition to fill out the yearly calendar for local filmmakers. It’s hosted by Klink’s Resort in Cheney that sits right on a beautiful lake. Not much time to throw a team together by tonight at 7:00 PM, but if you are interested…check out the facebook event for more details here.
