The Inlander’s Volume guide comes out this week along with their chosen “Bands to Watch” and the big festival is just a week away. Time to get familiar with some of the bands and map out your schedule for the weekend.

I’m thrilled about a couple bands in particular. Pyschic Rites is one of the Bands to Watch this year and I am really loving their sounds. I admit to having never heard of them before. They are from Moscow, Idaho and I’m not sure how much they have played in Spokane but I can’t wait to hear how they pull off the sound live. Definitely for fans of the 80’s new wave vibe.

Another band I would like* to be gearing my schedule around is Eternal Summers. They are one of the many touring bands that are making their way to the area for Volume, these guys are all the way from Virginia. Again, I hear some 80’s throwback in their tunes that reminds me of early Innocence Mission and Cocteau Twins. Super great to see plenty of bands in the lineup with female leads.

Be sure to head over to the Volume website. They did a pro job setting it up with unique profiles for each band where you can access tunes, see a photo and read any past write ups the Inlander has done on the band. They also have a really great page for the schedule with filters for each venue. See you at Volume!

*It’s a good sign of a true music festival when the two bands you really want to see are playing at the same time at different stages. Well, both these bands are playing just before 10pm on Friday night at different places. Rats.
