Up and coming electro-pop band MY BODY is not unlike more widely known Portland contemporaries Pure Bathing Culture and Wild Ones. Vibrant and catchy melodies, strong lead feminine vocals and retro inspiration. Riding the 80’s throwback train is easy, but letting your production style be ever so slightly influenced by the music you love is a complex endeavor that requires a strong sense of self and knowledge of the craft of songwriting. MY BODY displays they have both a unique identity and a knack for writing great songs their new EP. It’s full of interesting vocal arrangements and surprising layers of sonic experimentation. The thing that holds it all together is simple danceable grooves, making it a collection of songs that are easy to palette and on trend but also eager to linger with the listener for more than a handful of listens. Basically, it sounds and feels rad and it’s well made. Check it out for yourself and catch them live in the next month around the PNW – Mar 22, Treefort Music Fest—Boise, ID // Mar 23, Mississippi Studios—Portland, OR // Mar 24, Barboza—Seattle, WA
